Jan Fyt

Jan Fyt ( born March 15, 1611 Antwerp, † September 11, 1661 ) was a Flemish painter.

He was a pupil of Frans Snyders and until 1631 worked in the workshop. 1629/30 Fyt was admitted to the Guild of St. Luke. From 1633 to 1634 he completed a stay in Paris, and a trip to Italy. He was appreciated by his contemporaries as particularly on hunting still life painter specialized. Also, pictures of animals, fruit and flower still life are among his favorite genres.
