Jan Gunnar Solli

Gunnar Solli January ( born April 19, 1981 in Arendal ) is a Norwegian football player.

The midfielder has played in 2013 for the Norwegian first division side Vålerenga IF in the Tippeligaen.

Club career

His debut as a professional he was in the Norwegian Tippeligaen in 2000. During his former club Odd Grenland he stayed for three years. In his first season he was used only five times, but was able to prevail in the coming years. This also attracted international attention and Solli was invited by several European clubs to sample training, including AC Milan and Aston Villa.

In the summer of 2003, he moved to Rosenborg BK to Trondheim and was used in fourteen games in the second round. In the same year he was with the team Norwegian champion and achieved on 14 August 2003 his first goal. Overall, he played 85 times for the Troillongan.

On 16 March 2007, he moved to Bergen for SK Brann. Trondheim was awarded a fee of six million Norwegian kroner. In his first season for the team from the Vestlandet, became one of the top performers of the squad and was even able to win with the team the championship.

On 24 January 2011 he joined the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer.

In November 2012, has announced that Solli has not accepted a contract extension. Thus his work in the U.S. America is by the end of December 2012. In February he returned to Norway, to join the elite club called Vålerenga IF.

National

Solli was already active for the Norwegian U -18 and U -21 national team. For the latter, he played 16 games and scored 3 goals.

His first international game he played on 20 August 2003 against Scotland.
