Jan Heller Levi

January Heller Levi (born 1954 in New York) is an American poet.

Heller Levi grew up in Baltimore, spent a year at Beloit College in Wisconsin and completed her studies in 1977 with a BA. She worked several years as a freelance writer and took care of the public relations such as the Carnegie Hall, Franklin Eleanor Roosevelt Foundation and the Museum of Modern Art After spending a year in Europe, she moved, probably under the influence of her first husband, Ken Sofer, an art magazine. From 1978 to 1980 she was the personal assistant Muriel Rukeysers. Today she lives with her second husband, the Swiss writer Christoph Keller, sometimes in Manhattan, sometimes in St. Gallen. By 1996, she was employed with the Times. Besides working on her own poetry, she temporarily took also teaching at, so in Hunter, Sarah Lawrence College and the Poetry Center of the 92nd Street. It also acts as an editor and biographer.
