Jan Herzog

January Herzog ( born August 8, 1974 in Berlin ) is a retired German rower. His club is the rowing club at the Wannsee Berlin. He is related to the well-known rowing family El- Qalqili: Joel El- Qalqili and Iradj El- Qalqili are his cousins.

Life

Duke took first time in 1994 in the lightweight double sculls at U23 world championships, in 1995 he won the silver medal in the same class.

In 1996, he was able to improve this result in the non-Olympic lightweight quadruple sculls with the U23 world title yet until he moved to the slight belt area in 1997 and was immediately awarded with its partners Martin Weiss, Roland Händle and Markus Mielke the bronze medal in the lightweight coxless four won the world Rowing Championships in Aiguebelette.

In 1998, he joined the heavy area, but found at the World Championships in Cologne not taken into account, which is why he opted for the continuation of his medical studies.
