Jan Hron

January Hron ( born September 17, 1941) is a Czech agricultural engineer, he was rector of the Czech Agricultural University in Prague.

Life

Hron attended 1955 - 1959 the Agricultural Technical College Klatovy / Western Bohemia; It ensued from 1959 - 1964 studying engineering at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Agricultural University of Prague. In 1969, he earned the Academic title CSc. at the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. The dissertation work entitled: "Leadership and qualification procedures in agricultural holdings". 1977 was followed by a lectureship at the Czech Agricultural University in Prague and a habilitation thesis entitled: " Analysis and design of organizational systems in agricultural holdings ". In 1988 he received the academic title of Dr. Sc. University of Economics Prague, and in 1989 earned a reputation as a professor at the Czech Agaruniversität Prague.

In 2003 he was re-elected as Rector. From 2000 - 2003 he was dean of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, and from 1994 - 2000 Rector. Hron was from 1990 - 1991 Pro- Rector for Science and Research of the Czech Agricultural University in Prague and since 1989 professor at the Chair of Business Management at the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences of the Czech Agricultural University in Prague. It was 1985 - 1989 Vice Dean for Science and Research at the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences and in 1984 Head of the Department of Business Management at the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. 1977 - 1988 he was a lecturer at the Department of Business Management at the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, and from 1967 - 1977 Assistant Professor, Department of Business Management at the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences.

Hron is president of the Czech Academy of Agriculture and Chairman of the Commission for Economic, management, sociology and IT. He is on the editorial board member of the journal " Agricultural Economics " and the Czech Society for Research and case studies, the Czech Engineering Academy, which at WACRA ( World Association for Case Method Research & Case Method Application) and the European Association for International Education. During his rectorate period 1994-2000 and 2003-2009, he was a member of the Czech Rectors' Conference.

Hron is the author of about 350 technical publications including 63 research papers, 45 textbooks and lecture notes and 38 international titles.
