Jan Jakub Kolski

Jakub Jan Kolski (born 29 January 1956 in Breslau) is the author of numerous short films, documentaries, feature films and theater performances.

His professional film path began in the years 1976-81, when he a career by the cameraman assistants graduated from the program director at the Polish regional TVP Wrocław. Subsequently he studied from 1981 to 1985 at the Film and Theatre School in Łódź.

He has produced as a director and screenwriter over 20 short films and ten feature films. His productions dealing with topics such as mountains, nature, religion, sociology and ecology.

Awards

Jakub Jan Kolski won between 1993 and 2003 five awards at the Polish Film Festival Gdynia. In 1998 he won with his film Historia kina w Popielawach the main prize of the festival and a year later the Polish Film Award. With jancio Wodnik he won the Cottbus Film Festival, which deals exclusively with the Eastern European cinema.
