Jan Josef Ignác Brentner

Johann Joseph Ignaz Brenta ( Brenta Czech Jan Josef Ignatius ) ( born November 3, 1689 Dobrzan, † June 28, 1742 ) was a Czech composer of the late Baroque.

Brent agent father was mayor in Dobrzan. Between 1717 and 1720 lived Johann Joseph Brenta in Prague, where he published several works. Brenta seems to have been connected with the religious brotherhood of Saint Nicholas in the Lesser Town. For these he wrote several " German motets mourning ". His " Offertoria solenniora " op 2 were dedicated to his patron Raymund Wilfert, the abbot of the pin Tepl.

Brenta music is held in late Baroque concerto style and occasionally marked by simple song-like motifs. Many of his arias are set in the shape of the da capo aria and the " Hymnodia divina " are remarkable for the concert handling of the accompanying solo instruments, especially the violin. In Strahov Monastery Brent agent works have been performed until the 19th century.
