Jan Karlsson (cyclist)

January Bengt Peter Karlsson ( born February 8, 1966 in Falköping ) is a former Swedish cyclist.

The special disciplines by Jan Karlsson were individual and team time trials. In 1983 he was first Swedish junior champion in the time trial until 1999, he was seven times national champion in one of these two disciplines and four Scandinavian champion in the team time trial. In 1990 and 1991 he won the French time trial Chrono des Herbiers and 1997, the Berlin stage race.

Thrice started Karlsson at the Olympic Games: Seoul 1988 he won together with Björn Johansson, Anders Jarl Michel Lafis and the bronze medal in the 100 -kilometer team time trial.

1998 and 1999 went in January Karlsson for two years under contract, then he ended his cycling career.

Karlsson is the son of Sture Pettersson, one of Fåglum brothers, and father of the cyclist Magnus Karlsson Fåglum.
