January Laštůvka [ jan laʃtu vka ː ] (born 7 July 1982 Havířov ) is a Czech football player.

Club career

January Laštůvka began his career at FC Karviná, at age 18, he moved to Banik Ostrava. There, the goalkeeper came in his first season is yet to play, then Laštůvka but played regularly.

In the summer of 2004, the goalkeeper talent joined the Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk. In early 2006 he had to undergo a hernia operation and therefore came to only 13 appearances in the season 2005/ 06, 2004 /05 there were 22 applications. He was both 2005 and 2006, the Ukrainian champions. He also won the Ukrainian Super Cup with the team in 2005. End of August 2006 changed Laštůvka on loan to Fulham.

In the 2007 /08 season Laštůvka was on loan without option to buy at VfL Bochum. For the 2008/09 season the Czech though initially returned to Donetsk, was a short time later loaned to the English first division side West Ham United. In August 2009 Laštůvka joined the Ukrainian first division club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. There, the goalkeeper signed a contract until 2012.

National

Laštůvka played 17 times for the Czech Under-21 national team and had a use for the U20 selection.

End of March 2008 Laštůvka was invited to the last test match before the European Championship for the first time by coach Karel Brückner in the Czech national team. Against Denmark the keeper did on the bench.

On 3 September 2011, he came under coach Michal Bilek his debut in the senior team when he was in the starting in the away match of the European Championship qualifier against Scotland (2-2 ).
