Jan Leitner

January Leitner ( born September 14, 1953 in Znojmo ) is a former Czechoslovak long jumper.

At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, he was eliminated in the qualifying. Two years later he won the bronze medal at the European Athletics Championships 1982 in Athens, and at the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki he finished tenth.

In 1984 he won at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg and in 1985 at the IAAF World Indoor Games in Paris. In 1986 a bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid.

Ten times he was outdoors (1975-1982, 1984, 1985) and five times in the Hall (1979, 1981, 1982, 1985, 1986 ) national champion.
