Jan Liberda

January Liberda (* November 26, 1936 in Bytom ) is a former Polish football player.

Liberda began in 1949 his career at his hometown club Polonia Bytom. Between 1955 and 1971, he brought it to a total of 304 games and 145 goals for Polonia Bytom. He was top scorer in 1959 with 21 goals and in 1962 with 16 goals, where he was Polish champion. Liberda holds today with 145 hits seventh position in the time list of scorers in the first Polish league. At the International Football Cup 1963/64, he reached with his team the final, but Slovnaft Bratislava defeated there. On May 20, 1959 he got his first appointment to the Polish national football team against Germany in Hamburg. Overall, he comes to 35 games and 8 goals in the national team.
