Jan Lundell

January Lundell (* November 26, 1973 in Helsinki ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender. Since the end of his active career in 2012 he is at HIFK Helsinki of the SM- liiga as a goalkeeper coach under contract.

Career

Jan Lundell began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of Pita, where he was active until 1993. Then the goalkeeper played two years for the first team of Karhu -Kissat in the I- divisioona, the second Finnish league in which he played in the 1995/96 season for the first team of his former clubs PITA. The 1996/97 season he spent with HIFK Helsinki of the SM - liiga in. There he also began the following season, before he moved within the highest Finnish League for TPS Turku in the course of the season. The 1998/99 season he spent in parallel with HIFK Helsinki of the SM - liiga in and Kärpät Oulu in the I- divisioona. The 1999/2000 season he started at Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elitserien. In the rest of the season he stood for Pelicans Lahti in the SM- liiga and the Augsburger Panther in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga between the posts.

In the 2000 /01 season Lundell ran for HPK Hämeenlinna and Ässät Pori on the SM- liiga in before he spent the following season with Lukko Rauma. There, however, he came as a substitute goalkeeper only to a single use, which is why he moved to the Rødovre Mighty Bulls of the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen for the 2002/ 03 season. From 2003 to 2008 he performed for his former club HIFK Helsinki of the SM- liiga before he was in the 2008/ 09 season with KLH Chomutov in the first league, the second Czech league, on the ice. For the 2009/10 season he was once more obliged by his original club HIFK Helsinki, with whom he won the Finnish championship title in the 2010/11 season.
