Jan Mazoch

January Mazoch ( born September 5, 1985 in Čeladná ) is a former Czech ski jumper.

Mazoch was from 2003 a member of the Czech national team, after he had been at the World Cup in Falun, Sweden at the start of 2002. He participated at the 2003 World Championships in Val di Fiemme and 2005 in Oberstdorf and at the Winter Olympics in 2002 and 2006.

On January 20, 2007 Mazoch suffered a severe skull contusion during a jump at the World Cup in Zakopane. He had been due to the unpredictable strong winds and upper air was overthrown. The race was stopped after four other jumpers. Therefore, since only the first run was scored, Mazoch achieved his best World Cup result with 15th place.

In September 2007 Mazoch made ​​his comeback in Ski Jumping Continental Cup, and in February 2008 he went to Liberec for the first time in a World Cup qualifier at the start. In August 2008, he finished his career.

Mazoch is a grandson of former Czech ski jumping Olympic champion Jiří Raška. In June 2007, Mazoch one daughter. His younger brother Jiří Mazoch is also a ski jumper.
