Jan Nepomuk Å kroup

John of Nepomuk Škroup ( born September 15, 1811 in Ositz; † May 5, 1892 in Prague) was a Czech composer.

The son of Josef Dominik Škroup and brother František Škroup was from 1838 choirmaster at the Crusaders' church in Prague, later second Kapellmeister at the Estates Theatre. In 1845 he was choir director at St. Vitus Cathedral, 1846 teacher at the Theological Seminary.

He composed several operas and sacred works, including some exhibitions and published a singing school.
