Jan Peterek

January Peterek ( born October 17, 1971 in Havířov, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Ocelari Třinec in the Czech Extraliga since 2004.

Career

January Peterek began his career as a hockey player with TJ Vitkovice, for whom he made ​​his debut, was in the 1989/90 season in the first league, the highest Czechoslovak league. There, the winger began the following season, before he had to do his military service, after which he spent the rest of the game time at the Army Sports Club Dukla Trenčín. He then returned to TJ Vitkovice and took the team from the 1993/94 season at the - after division of Czechoslovakia - the newly formed Czech Extraliga part.

From 1997 to 1999 Peterek played for HC Železárny Třinec in the Extraliga. The 1999/2000 season began the links Sagittarius at Ässät Pori in the Finnish SM- liiga. After an assist in six games he joined the HC Femax Havířov from his Czech homeland in, where he spent the next two years. In the seasons 2001/ 02 and 2002/ 03 from the Czech Republic were each Champion of Russia with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

After another year in Yaroslavl Peterek signed for season 2004/05, again a contract with HC Ocelari Třinec. However, shortly before the start of the playoffs, he moved to his hometown club, the HC Vitkovice. Since the season 2005/ 06 the former national player stands again for Třinec in the Extraliga on the ice and was there for several years Team Captain. In the 2010/11 season he also won the Czech league title with the team.

Internationally

For Peterek Czech Republic took part in the Euro Hockey Tour in 2006.
