January Šimák

Jan Šimák (* 13 October 1978 in Tábor ) is a Czech football player.

Career

With his dribbling, shots and passes it could cause great difficulties in midfield or storm defenders. However, it is known that he has led a not just sports oriented lifestyle (alcohol, absence from training / tardiness ). He played for Sokol Mezno, VS Tábor, SU České Budějovice, Tábor FK and FK Chmel Blšany before the then German second division club Hannover 96 drew him in 2000.

There he struck first after a mixed season and contributed in 2001/ 02 mainly for promotion to the Bundesliga in by scoring 18 goals and 19 more prepared. However, there were also in the successful time numerous escapades as brawls and alcohol abuse. In 2002, he adopted for a fee of 6.5 million euros for Bayer 04 Leverkusen. When working club Šimák should succeed the FC Bayern Munich migrated Michael Ballack. However, he could not prevail in Leverkusen against strong competition, which is why he in 2003 on loan to Hannover 96 returned. Šimák held henceforth mostly in his home on. On July 21 2004 Sparta Prague announced that he has signed a one year contract with the Czech capital club, just hours after he had terminated his contract with Bayer 04 Leverkusen. However, he was not playing at the same level as he had done with Hannover 96, and then had to due to the worsening alcoholism issued in therapeutic treatment.

After a successful alcohol withdrawal Šimák began in October 2005 with Sparta Prague again with the football games and came off the bench on 23 October 2005 in the derby against city rivals Slavia in the 66th minute. Since then Šimák again shows solid performance.

For the season 2007/ 08 undertook the second division side FC Carl Zeiss Jena Šimák. There knew the unique national players to convince, so he moved to VfB Stuttgart for the 2008/09 season. He signed on April 28, 2008 and 2010 dated contract at VfB Stuttgart.

On January 19, 2010 Šimák transferred to 1 FSV Mainz 05 After he had only come in the 2010/11 season on a one-minute short-term use for Mainz, Simak's expiring contract was not renewed, and he returned to the now in its third league gambling FC Carl Zeiss Jena back, in which he signed a one year contract. After the descent, and his contract expires at FC Carl Zeiss Jena, he left the club in June 2012.

During the summer break in 2012 Šimák moved to the Czech club Spartak MAS Sezimovo Ústí.
