Ján Švehlík

Ján Švehlík ( born January 17, 1950 in Lovča ) is a former Slovak football player and coach. With the Czechoslovak national team, he was European champion in 1976. Since 2005 he has been director of sport ŠK Slovan Bratislava, the club with whom he spent most of his active career.

Club career

Švehlík began his career in 1969 at Slovan Bratislava and finished it at the same club in 1982. In the 1976/77 season, he completed his military service at Dukla Prague. With Slovan he was in 1970, 1974 and 1975 Czechoslovak champion, and in 1974 and in his last 1982 Cup Winners' Cup. In the first Czechoslovak league he came to 296 missions in which he scored 79.

International career

Internationally, he played 17 times for Czechoslovakia. In the European Football Championship 1976 in Yugoslavia, he became European Champion with Czechoslovakia. In the match against Germany, he scored one goal.
