Jan Urbas

January Urbas ( born January 26, 1989 in Ljubljana, SR Slovenia) is a Slovenian ice hockey player who is under contract with the Red Bull EHC München in the German Ice Hockey League since August 2013.

Career

January Urbas began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior section of the HDD Olimpija Ljubljana, where he was active until 2006. In addition, he was in the 2005/06 season his debut for the first team of the club in the Slovenian Hockey League, where he in 27 games 18 points scorer, eleven goals scored. Subsequently, the winger moved to the youth department of the Swedish association Malmö Redhawks, for its first team he was from 2008 to 2011 in the HockeyAllsvenskan, the Swedish second division on the ice. At European level, he came to Malmö in preparation for the 2010/11 season in addition to four inserts in the European Trophy.

For the 2011/12 season Urbas was obliged Växjö Lakers Hockey of the Elitserien. For this, however, he competed in his first season only two games before he could be 2012/13 earn a regular place in the season.

Internationally

For Slovenia Urbas took part in the junior level at the U18 World Junior Championships Division I 2007 and the U20 World Junior Championships Division I 2008 and 2009. In the senior level, he stood first in his country's squad at the World Championship Division I in 2010. Moreover, he took with Slovenia participated in the qualification for the 2014 Winter Olympics, where he prevailed with his country.
