Jan van Calcar
Jan Stephan van Calcar (* 1500 in Kleve, † 1546 in Naples) was a Dutch painter and graphic artist in the Renaissance.
Life
Calcar came from the upper Rhine valley and should be blown with a young woman to Venice, where he became a pupil of Titian. Calcar's works were similar to those of his teacher so much that they were often difficult to distinguish. Calcar then spent some years in Naples, where he died. Most famous are probably his anatomical drawings that he did for Andreas Vesalius ' De fabrica corporis humanistic ".
