Jan van Eijden

Jan van Eijden ( born August 10, 1976 in Bad Neuenahr -Ahrweiler ) is a retired German racing cyclist and current coach.

His first major title won track specialist van Eijden, called the drivers refer to " the Short " in 1994 as a Junior World Champion over 1000m time trial. He is a two time world champion in track sprint and team sprint ( with Michael Hübner and Jens Fiedler ) and was six times German champion in sprint and team sprint (then called " Olympic Sprint "). He started for the RV Dudenhofen 1908.

2000 took van Eijden part in the Olympic Games in Sydney, finishing in fifth sprint and keirin in the fourth.

2006 van Eijden resigned as Active. Shortly thereafter, he became coach of the British Track Cycling team.
