Jan von Arx

Jan von Arx (born 9 February 1978) is a Swiss ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Davos since the 1995/96 season. His brother is also Reto hockey player and also plays HC Davos.

Career

Jan von Arx began his career in 1994 at SC Langnau in the National League B. In 1995 he played at the elite A- juniors the HC Davos and were in the same season his debut in the National League A ( NLA ) for Davos.

In the season 1996/97 he graduated still 19 games for the Davos Juniors, but was most of the season in the NLA squad of HCD. In the following years he developed into a strong offensive defender, who has a very good shot and skating technique. Large caused a sensation in the doping case Jan von Arx, when it was tested in March 2006 positive for cannabis consumption. In June 2006, was subsequently blocked by Arx for six months.

2004 and 2006 he won with the HC Davos and the Spengler Cup in the years 2002, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011, he was with the same club Swiss champion.

Internationally

His first game for Switzerland Jan von Arx graduated at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1995. Both at the World Youth Championship in 1997, and at the World Youth Championship 1998, he was part of the squad, the Swiss U20 national team. He was first appointed to the Swiss national ice hockey team in 1999 and participated in the 1999 World Cup, where he scored two goals and two assists in four games.
