Jan Zábrana
January Zábrana ( born June 4, 1931 in Herálice, † September 3, 1984 in Prague) was a Czech writer, poet and translator.
Life
Spends his youth in Zábrana Humpolec, where he also graduated from high school in 1950 stores. He then studied at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague. In 1954 he began his work as a translator. Three years later he published his first poems. In the 70s, he is depressed, suffering from diabetes in 1976 and later of cancer.
Works
Zábrana translated poetry and prose from the Russian and English. He is also the author of lyrical anthologies and co-wrote with Joseph Škvorecký detective novels.
