Jan Zach

January Zach, Johann Zach ( baptized November 13, 1699 in Čelákovice, † May 24 1773 in Ellwangen ) was a Czech composer and conductor.

Zach competed as music director of the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, but was not adopted. In 1747 he left the city and hired himself out as the successor of the equally -down from Bohemia Johann Ondratschek († April 26, 1743 ), as a violinist and conductor, for the Archbishop of Mainz Johann Friedrich Karl von Ostein.

From 1756 he was without a steady job and stayed on his travels through Europe, mainly Italy, Germany and Austria, with the sale of his compositions over water. Zach's early works are arrested for baroque music while later, the emerging early classical approached.
