Jana Sorgers-Rau

Jana Sorgers - Rau (born Sorgers, * August 4, 1967 in Neubrandenburg ) is two -time Olympic gold medalist and nine-time world champion in rowing. She won in Seoul in 1988 in the quadruple sculls in the team of the former GDR, the gold medal, and repeated this win eight years later in Atlanta for Germany.

She finished her career in 1996 and in 1997 as the first rower from the International Rowing Federation FISA with the highest distinction in rowing, the Thomas Keller Medal - awarded. Jana Sorgers is married, has two children and lives in Bremen since 1996.

For her Olympic gold medal in Seoul in 1988 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold.
