The Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno, Czech: Janáčkova academy múzických umění v Brně, short JAMU; English: Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts Brno, Brno is a Czech university University of Music and Theatre.

The JAMU is one of two schools of music and theater in the Czech Republic. The Janáček Academy was named after the composer Leoš Janáček, and founded in 1947. After years of distinguished development of the young Academy, the activities after the Prague Spring and the communist era in the 1970s and 1980s normalized. In 1989, the foundations for a development of the performing arts have been created and established the present Academy with renowned professors.

The JAMU with the two faculties of Music and Drama has 2004/2005 approximately 600 students. The academy offers study opportunities in Czech, German and English. The JAMU works with numerous higher education institutes at home and abroad.

Honorary doctorates from the Janáček Academy have been awarded to the pianist Rudolf Firkušný, the poet Ludvik Kundera, Václav Havel and the poet and actor Jiří Suchy.
