Jane E. Norton

Jane Ellen Norton ( born October 12, 1954 in Grand Junction, Colorado) is an American politician. Between 2003 and 2007 she was Deputy Governor of the State of Colorado.

Career

Jane Ellen Miner, so her maiden name, studied until 1976 at the Colorado State University Health Sciences. She also studied at Regis University in Denver the administrative nature. She then worked for some time as a teacher at a middle school in Fort Lupton. Politically, she joined the Republican Party. Under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush was director of the regional branch of the U.S. Department of Health in Colorado. Between 1986 and 1987 it belonged for a few months in the House of Representatives from Colorado, where she finished a partly legislative term for a former member of this body. Between 1999 and 2002 she was hired as Executive Director at the Ministry of Health of their state, where she was cared for with several important tasks.

In 2003, Norton was elected to the side of Bill Owens to the Deputy Governor of the State of Colorado. This office she held zwischen 2003 and 2007. Yet she was Deputy Governor. In addition, she was a member of various health bodies. In 2010, she appeared in the Primary of her party at the elections to the U.S. Senate and was second behind Ken Buck.

Jane Norton is married and has two adult children.
