Jane Gregory

Jane Gregory, nee Bredin, (born 30 June 1959 Bromley, † 1 April 2011) was a British dressage rider, who participated in two Olympic Games.

Life

Jane Gregory was ( today part of London ) born in 1959 in Bromley, a suburb of London. Your parents themselves were not riding. At the age of seven, she was given the first opportunity to ride. However, their first real riding lessons she received only twelve years old when her grandmother her her first horse, a Connemara pony bought. In the following years they rode mostly jumping and eventing. In 1976 she won after she had moved to North Cornwall, the Junior Club Championships rating eventing.

In 1979, she got over the Dressage Judge Janet Poulden the chance to start in a national dressage competition as a test rider ( rider first before the regular starting field ). Here they discovered the British dressage riders David Hunt, who noted, however, that they riding variably still need a lot of help. Gregory learned in the next two years by Hunt and worked from 1981 to 1992 as a professional rider with him in the barn.

In 1992 joined the. In the stable of Suzie Cumine that put her Cupido available With this she took in 1994 to their first championship, the World Equestrian Games in The Hague, in part. Here they reached rank 7 with the British team and was in the individual competition at the CHIO Aachen 27 2005 she was again a member of the British team.

At the Olympic Games in 1996 she took part once again with Cupid. Here, however, it was for the British team, reached the rank 8, the match result. In the individual competition, she finished ranked 42nd

In the following years she lacked a successful horse so that they did not participate in championships. In 2001 she moved to the starting Hong Kong dressage rider Aram Gregory, with whom she lived at that time than 15 years ago, its own facility in Great Cheverell, Wiltshire. 2006 followed the wedding, Jane Bredin took the surname of her husband.

After they had trained several young horses, she was nominated with one of these for the British Olympic team in 2008. Trained by Ulla Salzgeber they reached at the 2008 Olympic Games with Lucky Star Rank 6 with the team and ranked 30th in the individual standings.

On 1 April 2011, died Gregory, presumably of a heart attack.
