Jane Horrocks

Barbara Jane Horrocks ( born January 18, 1964 in Rossendale Valley, Lancashire ) is a British actress, voice actress, writer and singer.

Life and career

Jane Horrocks studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Horrocks was known primarily as the rather moronic assistant Bubbles in the British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous alongside Jennifer Saunders ( Edina ) and Joanna Lumley ( Patsy ). During the collaboration with screenwriter Jim Cartwright was this attention to their special ability, as she can change her voice to imitate people or interpret old songs again. He was so excited that he wrote the screenplay for the film Little Voice, and these occupied with her in the lead role. For this role, she was rewarded, among other things with a nomination for the Golden Globe. Because of this vocal ability, they will often also involved the synchronization of animated films. Her best-known work here is the film Chicken Run - Hennen race ( Chicken Run ), where she lends her voice in the original hen Babs. Even as a singer, you can experience it every now and then.
