Jane Irwin Harrison

Jane Irwin Harrison ( * July 23, 1804 Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, † May 11, 1845 ) was in charge during the month-long tenure of U.S. President William H. Harrison to the tasks of the First Lady of the United States. She was the widow of William H. Harrison Jr., his son. The wife of the president, Anna Harrison was very sick and could not accompany him to Washington, so Jane had some public tasks take over for them.

She was the aunt of the later U.S. President Benjamin Harrison, whose mother and sister Jane was also married to a son of William H. and Anne Harrison, John Scott Harrison.
