Jane Powell

Jane Powell ( born April 1, 1929 in Portland, Oregon, as Suzanne Lorraine Burce ) is an American actress.

Even as a young girl Jane Powell performed as a singer and dancer. Her parents wanted to make it a second Shirley Temple. In Oakland, California got the girl, supported by their parents, singing lessons. In the film she was at the time but not yet.

Before 1943, Jane was finally able to make a contract with MGM, she appeared in two films of United Artists. For MGM, she changed her name to Jane Powell to the name of the film character she played in Song of the Open Road. Even her first assignment for MGM, the musical ball at the embassy, made ​​her a star.
