Janet Suzman
Dame Janet Suzman, DBE ( born February 9, 1939 in Johannesburg) is a South African actress.
In the 1960s, she started her career as actress as a member of the English theater group Royal Shakespeare Company. In the 1960s and 1970s she was an actress in numerous British television productions. In 1971 she got her first feature film starring role in Nicholas and Alexandra, and was nominated for her role as Alexandra for an Oscar as best actress. In 1982, she played the female lead role in Peter Greenaway's film The Draughtsman's Contract. From 1969 to 1986 she was married to the director Trevor Nunn. From this relationship went a son.
