Jansky (crater)

Jansky is an impact crater extreme eastern edge of the lunar front side, on the southern edge of the Mare Marginis. The crater is heavily eroded and thus, in conjunction with its remoteness from the Earth extremely poorly visible.

The crater was created in 1964 officially named by the IAU by the American engineer and first radio astronomer Karl Guthe Jansky.
