Janusz Kaleta

Janusz Kaleta ( born October 11, 1964 in Łazy, Silesia, Poland) is appointed Bishop of Karaganda.

Life

Janusz Kaleta studied at the Interdisciplinary Theological Institute for Bioethics at the Pontifical Theological Academy of Krakow and in the Faculty of Innsbruck University Catholic Theological. He received on June 4, 1989, ordained priest for the Diocese of Tarnów Poland by the Archbishop of Tarnów, Jerzy Karol Ablewicz, and was initially active in pastoral care, and later as a research assistant at the Cracow University, where he also received his doctorate.

Pope John Paul II appointed him with the founding of the Apostolic Administration of Atyrau on 7 July 1999 to the Apostolic Administrator. 2006 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Titular Bishop of Phelbes. He received his episcopal consecration on 23 November 2006 in Rome, Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Cardinal Sodano; Co-consecrators were Skworc Victor, Bishop of Tarnów, and Henry Theophilus Howaniec OFM, Bishop of Almaty.

5 February 2011 he was appointed Pope Benedict XVI. Bishop of Karaganda.
