Janusz Kowalik

Janusz Kowalik ( born March 26, 1944 in Nowy Sacz, Poland ) is a former Polish footballer and coach.

Club career

Janusz Kowalik began his professional career at Cracovia Kraków in the Polish second division. In 1961 he rose to with Cracovia and debuted in the Ekstraklasa. Overall, he played three seasons in the Ekstraklasa and five seasons in the Second Polish league. In 1968 he emigrated to the United States, where he played in the NASL for the Chicago Mustangs and the California Clippers ( 1968, he was with 30 goals scorer in the NASL ). In 1969 he returned to Europe. He was engaged by Sparta Rotterdam. In Sparta Janusz Kowalik spent five seasons before he moved to league rivals NEC Nijmegen 1974. He also played in 1976 and 1977, respectively, for a few months, at Chicago Sting in the U.S. and a total of three seasons in the MVV Maastricht in the Netherlands. He trailed off Eisden Maasmechelen his active career at Belgian club Patro 1980.

The trained striker completed six caps for Poland.

Coaching career

Among other things, Kowalik coached the Polish Gornik Zabrze record champions.
