Career

Jaoid Chiguer began as a teenager with the boxes. He is a member of the sports club Club Sportif Nouzonville. He will be coached by Hamid Zaim. The 1.78 meter tall student first drew attention in 2005 when he finished in 2nd place in the welterweight division in the French championship behind Xavier Noël. In the same year he was employed at the Games of La Francophonie in Niamey, where after two victorious battles in the semifinals, he lost welterweight against Miloud Ait Hammi from Morocco and thereby placed 3rd.

2006 Jaoid Chiguer was again French runners-up. In the finals of the welterweight he lost it against Alexis Vastine on points. At the European Championships this year in Plovdiv Alexis Vastine started but one weight class lower. Jaoid Chiguer had thereby start the chance in this welterweight championship. He lost there but his fight in the round of " 32 " against the Turks Bülent Ulusoy just by points ( 22:26 ), so he resigned. In the same year he died in a battle in Strasbourg countries against Cuba at a remarkable point victory over Julio Iglesias.

In 2007 he came to the French championship actually up in the semi-finals, but there could not compete due to injury. In the fall of 2007 he scored after recovering from injury, two remarkable results. When Tammer Tournament in Tampere he won, among others against the Russian champion Oleg Komissarow and the pre-Olympic tournament in Beijing, he won over Li Quanlong, China and Anthony Ogogo from England and only lost in the semifinals against Kant Orakbajew from Kazakhstan, which he finished in 3rd place.

In 2008, he retired to the French championship due to an injury from already in the quarterfinals. He has just been restored to participate in the European qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in Beijing in Pescara. He was there though to a victory over Borna Katalinic from Croatia, but then lost in the quarterfinals against Alexander Stretsky from Ukraine, which he finished only ninth place, which was not sufficient for the Olympic qualifiers. That's why he went on the last European qualifying tournament in Athens at the start. He won there over Bácskai Balázs from Hungary Jan Romaschkewitsch from Belarus, Andrei Balanow from Russia and Kahaber Ivania from Georgia that finished 1st place and had so of course for the Olympic Games qualified.

In Beijing welterweight he managed a victory over Aliasker Baschirow from Turkmenistan, but in the quarterfinals, he lost to Dilshod Mahmudow from Uzbekistan and thus finishing in 9th place. After the Olympics Jaoid Chiguer launched in Liverpool also at the European Championships. He won there over Dimitrijs Sostaks from Latvia, Vasili Belous from Belarus, Borna Katalinic and was defeated in the semi-final against the Germans Jack Culcay - Keth on points. He thus won a European Championship bronze medal.
