Jaouad Gharib (Arabic جواد غريب; May 22nd, 1972 in Khénifra ) is a Moroccan long-distance runner, who previously was twice world champion in marathon.

At the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in 2001, he was in the 10,000 - meter race in eleventh. In the same year he won over this distance gold medal at the Mediterranean Games and finished ninth at the World Half Marathon Championships in Bristol. He finished tenth at the World Cross Country Championships in Dublin, eight in the 10,000 m at the European Athletics Championships in Africa Radès and won a silver medal at the World Half Marathon Championships in Brussels in 2002.

After he had become the Rotterdam Marathon the following year sixth in 2:09:15 hours, he surprised at the World Championships in 2003 with a victory in 2:08:31 h, where he improved a 20 -year-old championship record of Robert De Castella. The marathon course should continue to be his special discipline. In 2004 he was fourth at the Lisbon Half Marathon and qualified as third in the London Marathon for the Olympic Games in Athens, where he finished eleventh. In 2006 he was eighth in London, fourth in the Great North Run and third at the Fukuoka Marathon. The following year he was third in the Lisbon Half Marathon, fourth at the Portugal Half Marathon in London and third parties. In the heat race of the Chicago Marathon, he delivered himself to the finish a head-to -head race with Patrick Mutuku Ivuti, with whom he broke in at the same time in 2:11:11 h.
