Japan Air Commuter, short JAC, is a Japanese regional airline based in Kagoshima and based on the Kagoshima airport. It is 60% owned by Japan Airlines, as well as to 40% of Kagoshima Prefecture and 14 municipalities of the Amami Islands.

History

The Company was incorporated on 1 July 1983 and began operations in December 1983. A joint -investment plan of 14 municipalities and private investors of Kagoshima Prefecture led to the founding of Japan Air Commuter. She was initially a subsidiary of Toa Domestic Airlines, later known as Japan Air System. Japan Air System eventually merged with Japan Airlines.

Destinations

Japan Air Commuter operates shuttle services for Japan Airlines in Japan and flies around the following objectives:

  • Amami Islands: Amami, Kikai, Tanegashima, Tokunoshima, Wadomari, Yakushima and Yoron
  • Hokkaido: Sapporo
  • Honshu: Matsumoto, Niigata, Hiroshima, Okayama, Izumo, Okinoshima, Osaka, Toyooka and Fukushima
  • Kyushu Fukuoka, Kagishima, Miyazaki and Oita
  • Shikoku: Matsuyama, Takamatsu and Tokushima
