Japan Asia Airways

Japan Asia Airways ( jap :日本アジア航空, Nihon Ajia Koku Kabushiki - gaisha, short JAA) was a Japanese airline based in Tokyo and based on the Tokyo Narita Airport. She was a subsidiary of Japan Airlines.

History

After the Chinese government has banned airlines JAL and Air China flights between Japan and Taiwan, JAL founded on August 8, 1975, the subsidiary Japan Asia Airways. She took on 15 September 1975, air operations. First they used only former JAA aircraft JAL. There were, among other aircraft such as the Boeing 747-100 and Douglas DC-8- 61 for use.

1985 came more destinations such as Hong Kong and Okinawa in the flight plan, but were adjusted again in the meantime. A year later, a Boeing 747-300 and two Boeing 767-300 aircraft were procured.

In 2008, JAL announced perform the Taiwan flights themselves and to fully integrate the JAA in JAL. Japan Asia Airways held its last flight by on March 31, 2008.

Destinations

JAA joined the Japanese cities of Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo with the Taiwanese cities of Taipei and Kaohsiung.
