Japan national basketball team

The Japanese National Basketball Team (Japaneseバスケットボール 男子 日本 代表, basketball danshi nihon Daihyō ) represents Japan in international basketball games of Lords. It is one of the strongest national teams in Asia and was twice Asian champion.

History

The Japanese national basketball team participated in the 1936 Olympic Games, the Basketball had for the first time in the program. The ninth place is still the best placement of Japan in the Olympics. The strongest phase had the Japanese national team as it qualified by the end of the 50s to the beginning of the 70's periodically for Olympic Games and World Championships. During this time, the Japanese won the Asian Championship two times. After China's accession to the FIBA Japan could not win any more championships, but finished by the end of the 90's periodically medals at the continental championships. The last tip placement succeeded in 1997 by winning the silver medal.

Achievements

The greatest successes in Japan are the profits of the gold medal at the basketball Asian Championships 1965 in Kuala Lumpur ( Malaysia) and 1971 at the home championship in Tokyo.
