Japan Robot Association

The Japan Robot Association ( JARA ) is a significant association of industrial enterprises from the robotics field, located in Tokyo (Japan).

History

The association was founded in 1971 as an Industrial Robot conversatione. In 1972 the company was renamed and reorganization in Japan Industrial Robot Association ( JIRA ). Since extending the remit of the Association not only to industrial robots, in 1994 renamed the Japan Robot Association ( JARA ) was made.

Main activities

The activities of the JARA are diverse in nature. On one hand, principles and visions for the robot industry will be developed and fixed and set standardization activities in the robotics field. On the other hand, include the promotion of robot manufacturing industry and market research in the tasks of the JARA.

Members

The membership list of the JARA has numerous well-known and multinational industrial groups. These include the European robot manufacturers ABB, KUKA robot and Stäubli.
