Jardin des Serres d'Auteuil

The Jardin des Serres d' Auteuil (French, German garden greenhouses of Auteuil ) is called a part of the botanical garden of the city of Paris. It is located in the Bois de Boulogne, was created by Jean Camille Formigé (1845-1926) designed and dedicated in 1898. Originally it was called Fleuriste Municipale (French, German urban Florist ) served as the mass production plant for Parisian parks and was surrounded by nurseries.

Collections

It is worth noting, inter alia, the collection of endemic plants of the French overseas territory New Caledonia (130 taxa, eg several Araukarienarten ), many of which can be seen for the first time outside their own island. Furthermore, the collection of crops in the Sahel zone (55 taxa ) are of particular interest.

The families of orchids ( 515 taxa ) and bromeliads particularly strongly represented (400 taxa ). Furthermore, the genus Begonia (580 taxa ), Caladium (130 taxa ), Ficus (120 taxa ), Peperomia (130 taxa ) and Philodendron are collected (60 taxa ) focus.
