Geography

River

The river rises in the southern part of the Jardine River National Park about 10 km from the coast of the Coral Sea in the northern foothills of the Great Dividing Range. It first flows through the National Park to the north and then turns its course to the west. On the western border of the national park he meets the only access road of the area, the Peninsula Developmental Road that accompanies about 10 km long from there the river before turning South. The river bends again to the north and forms the wetland Jardine Swamps. A few kilometers north of the swamp leads the Jardine River about 15 km west of the small town Injinoo in the Arafura Sea.
