Jared Cowen

Jared Cowen ( born January 25, 1991 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who stands in February 2010 with the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Jared Cowen played in the 2006/07 season for the Saskatoon Contacts of the Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League. In the same season he also went for the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League on the ice, who had selected him in the WHL Bantam Draft in 2006 in the first round at position one. In his second season he won with the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL championship, the Ed Chynoweth Cup and the Memorial Cup in 2008. NHL Entry Draft in 2009, he was also in the first round, but made at the ninth position of the Ottawa Senators the National Hockey League selected. In February 2010, Cowen signed a contract for three years with the Ottawa Senators. His NHL debut came on 8 April 2010 in the play of his Senators at Tampa Bay Lightning.

Internationally

For Canada Cowen took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 2010 and U20 Junior World Cup 2011, where he took second place each with his team and won the silver medal.
