Jared Perkins

Jared Perkins ( born January 5, 1793 in Unity, Sullivan County, New Hampshire, † October 15, 1854 in Nashua, New Hampshire ) was an American politician. Between 1851 and 1853 he represented the State of New Hampshire in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Jared Perkins attended the public schools of his home. After studying theology and its made ​​in 1824 ordained a priest he practiced this profession in addition to its other activities during the following 30 years. Perkins was also active politically and was a member of the Whig party. Between 1846 and 1848 he was State Council (State Councilor ) in New Hampshire. In 1850 he was elected to the House of Representatives from New Hampshire.

1850 Perkins was in the third district of New Hampshire in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the Democrats George W. Morrison on March 4, 1851. Since he lost to Harry Hibbard in the elections of 1852, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1853. 1854 Perkins was appointed Justice of the Peace. In the same year he was nominated by his party for the upcoming gubernatorial election. But he died before election day.
