Jared Polis

Jared Polis protection ( born May 12, 1975 in Boulder, Colorado) is an American entrepreneur and politician of the Democratic Party. He is since 2009 Angordneter of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the 2nd Congressional District of Colorado, which consists of an area west of Denver to Boulder City.

Life

Jared Polis was born in 1975 as the son of an active in the peace movement of the 1960s couple. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey and founded while studying the firm American Information Systems, an Internet access and web hosting company, and, with his parents, bluemountainarts.com, an online greeting card company which in 1999 he sold to Excite @ home. Later he founded an online flower shop and a chain of cinemas that showed films in Spanish or with Spanish subtitles. Currently he operates V.A. to in an aquaculture enterprise.

Polis is Jewish and lives with his partner in Boulder.

Political career

Formerly Chairman of the Colorado State Board of Education, he was elected on 4 November 2008 in the House of Representatives of the United States. He took the oath on January 6, 2009 from the successor of the exchanged in the Senate Mark Udall. Polis is the first politician who was openly gay in his first election to the House of Representatives.

He is a member of the United States House Committee on Education and Labor and the United States House Committee on Rules. November 6, 2012 Polis succeeded in re-entry into the House of Representatives of the United States.
