Jari Askins

Jari Askins (* April 27, 1953 in Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma) is an American politician (Democratic Party) and since 2007, 15 Deputy Governor of the State of Oklahoma.

Askins studied journalism at the University of Oklahoma, where he received a BA degree in 1975. Thereafter, she attended the College of Law of the University and received her Juris Doctor in 1980.

1994 Askins was elected to the House of Representatives from Oklahoma, which they then belonged to for twelve years. In 2006 she was elected Vice- Governor of their state and took office in January 2007. In the gubernatorial election in 2010, it is the Democratic candidate for the succession to the Governor Brad Henry no longer antretenden. She sat down in the Democratic Primary against Drew Edmondson, the Attorney General of Oklahoma, by and will now face the choice of the Republican Mary Fallin, its predecessor in the office of lieutenant governor.
