Jarkko Ahola

Jarkko Ahola Kalevi ( born August 24, 1977 in Toijala ) is a Finnish musician. He received international notoriety primarily for his activity as a singer and bassist of the True Metal band Teräsbetoni. He was also a singer of the power metal band Dreamtale. In 2007 he founded with three other well-known Finnish singers the supergroup Northern Kings.

Biography

Jarkko Ahola began at the age of 13, his musical career actually on drums. Since his first band JVS but lacked a singer, he took over the vocal items. After a change of name of the band to Tribunes even created a demo, then the band broke up. A few months later he joined at the suggestion of his friend Antti Mäkelä whose inspired by AC / DC High Voltage band as a singer with. After four demo recordings no other band activities took place more.

In 1996, Ahola together with Ville Lehtinen (now Ville Terämä ), Kim Högberg and Tommi Takku the band Bulldozer, later member was among other Heikki Malmberg ( Diablo ). With Bulldozer Ahola first wrote some own songs. Aside from releasing two demos ( "Bulldozer " and "Love / Hate " ), the band also appeared several times on live and won a local competition. During the recording of "Love / Hate " Ahola met the sound engineer and guitarist Jami Katajisto, with whom he formed the acoustic duo Two. In September 2002, he published the influenced by the hard rock of the 1980s Demo " Blind", again completely on their own. A year later, he finally even the demo " Down" out, which contained blues-rock songs and was inspired by David Coverdale's works.

Jarkko Ahola 2003 received a request from the power metal band Dreamtale who was looking for a new singer. With Dreamtale he took on their third studio album "Difference " by Timo Tolkki the produced on 25 April 2005 was released by Spinefarm Records. Shortly after the release he left the band to concentrate on other projects.

These own projects included the True Metal band Teräsbetoni, which he had founded with Arto Järvinen and Viljo Rantanen. With this he had in 2004 received a record deal with the major label Warner Music Group, where in 2005 the first album " Metallitotuus " appeared, which debuted at number two on the Finnish album charts. With Teräsbetoni he has since released three albums and several singles, all of which found themselves on high chart positions and in the case of the first album even received a platinum record. The band also took part in the Finnish Trials for Euro Vision Song Contest and decided this for themselves, which is why Teräsbetoni Finland with the song " Missae miehet ratsastaa " represented the Euro Vision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade.
