Jarkko Kauppinen

Jarkko Kauppinen ( born April 6, 1982 in Vieremä ) is a Finnish biathlete.

Jarkko Kauppinen is foresters and lives in Joensuu. Since 1996 he runs biathlon and belongs since 2005 to the national team of Finland. Kauppinen starts for Iisalmen Visa and is trained by Jonne Kähkönen. He had his first international appearances as a junior. At the Junior World Championships 2002 in Ridnaun his best result was a sixth place in the individual, at the Junior European Championships in the same year in Kontiolahti a ninth place in the individual and a fifth in the relay. At the beginning of the 2002/03 season, the Finn was in Östersund his debut in the Biathlon World Cup. In the sprint, he reached the 99th place in the relay the Eleventh. The highlight of the season but was renewed participation in the Junior European Championships in Kościelisko with rank 30 in singles and ninth in the relay as the best results.

Since the second half of the season 2004/ 05 Kauppinen occurred more frequently at the World Cup. In 2006 he succeeded in Oberhof with the relay in ninth -placed for the first time a top ten result. However, it took until January 2008 that he as 21 of the sprint and as 26th in the pursuit won his first World Cup points in Antholz. He previously competed in the Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Antholz, where number 53 in the pursuit was his best result. The single game from Ostersund to kick off the World Cup 2012/2013 Jarkko Kauppinen was tenth and thus demonstrating for the first time a place in the top ten.
