Jarl Waldemar Lindeberg

Jarl Waldemar Lindeberg (* August 4, 1876 in Helsinki, † December 12, 1932 ) was a Finnish mathematician.

Life

Lindenberg was the son of a lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute Helsinki.

After completing his schooling Lindenberg studied at the university of his native city. Early on, he worked on partial differential equations and at the latest from 1920 on he found his focus in probability theory and statistics.

In 1920 Lindenberg also publish its central limit theorem. Without the research, Alexander Mikhailovich Lyapunov know, he came to similar conclusions ( Lindeberg condition, Lyapunov condition).

The Swedish mathematician Harald Cramér learned Lindenberg know in 1922 and reported on this meeting:

Jarl Waldemar Lindeberg died at the age of 56 years on 12 December 1932 in Helsinki and found his final resting place.
