Jaroslav Hlinka

Jaroslav Hlinka ( born November 10, 1976 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player who is under contract with Linköpings HC in the Swedish Elitserien since May 2008.

Career

Jaroslav Hlinka began at the age of four years with the hockey game and got 14 years with a range of HC Sparta Prague to play for the youth team. Hlinka then went through the youth teams and was in the 1994/95 season his debut in the Czech Extraliga. In the following years he mainly played for Sparta, but also had repeatedly inserts at the second-rate teams first league, such as HC Slovan Ústí nad Labem or HC Berounsti Medvědi. In the season 1999/2000 he won with Sparta its first Czech Championship title and contributed to this success points scorer at 57. Two years later, the HC Sparta Prague repeat the title and Hlinka was with 45 assists best assist provider in the league. In 13 playoff games, he reached another 15 points scorer and thus contributed significantly to winning the league title at.

Because of these outstanding achievements decided the management of the Kloten Flyers to take Hlinka under contract. Between 2002 and 2006, he completed 121 games in the National League A for Kloten, in which he scored 48 goals were un 78 templates. This time in Switzerland was interrupted only by the season 2004/ 05 he spent in the Russian Super league club Ak Bars Kazan. End of the season 2005/ 06 he asked for termination of his contract in Kloten and moved to his hometown club, with whom he won another title. In the following season he was top scorer in both the Extraliga, as well as top assist provider of the playoffs, and added to his collection of titles one more championship titles with Sparta added.

These outstanding achievements in the top division of the Czech Republic led the management of the Colorado Avalanche, to undertake Hlinka for the 2007 /08 season. On 3 October 2007 he scored his first two NHL points scorer against the Dallas Stars. In the same month, on 23 October, he scored his first NHL then goal against the Edmonton Oilers. With the Avalanche, he played mostly together with his compatriot Milan Hejduk and Paul Stastny, who has Slovak roots, in a line.

In May 2008, Hlinka signed a two -year contract with Linköpings HC of the Swedish Elitserien, where he meets his former coach Slavomír Lener.

Internationally

Jaroslav Hlinka also at international championships in addition to its successes with Sparta Prague: The Czech national team, he has played in seven World Championships and each won a gold and a silver medal. Overall Hlinka has accumulated over 100 appearances for the Czech Republic, in which he scored 19 goals.
